Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting with all phases of the track program at King William High School. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: coaching and student-athlete skill development, with emphasis on technique and strength/endurance development. This position is part-time. However, if an instructional vacancy for which a candidate qualifies is available, he or she will be considered to fill the vacancy.
Qualifications
- A thorough knowledge of applicable VHSL rules and regulations is required.
- Previous experience coaching outdoor track is preferred.
- Ability to lead and motivate student-athletes is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Bachelor's degree and valid Virginia teaching license preferred.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support and assist the head coach in the development of a sports program that challenges student-athletes to succeed individually and as a team.
- Effectively assist student-athletes to achieve within the team system developed by the head coach.
- Demonstrate a commitment to assisting student-athletes achieve academic success.
- Assist the head coach in managing various administrative tasks related to the operation of the program such as equipment management and coordination of team travel.
- Comply with VHSL and regulations developed by the head coach and athletic director.
- Other responsibilities as required.
