GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position in contracted through ESS Services. King William County Public Schools is seeking an individual with experience working with students who require specialized support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school diploma/GED or higher.
- Has met all requirements for designation of Highly Qualified status.
- Experience as an instructional aide, or other qualifying employment experience(s) preferred.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for assisting with the implementation and documentation of interventions for elementary level students.
- Demonstrate professionalism through prompt and regular attendance as well as appropriate attire.
- Compiles, maintains and submits all required records in concert with the classroom teacher.
- Communicate concerns regarding academics and behavior in a timely manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to support and/or implement behavioral strategies as determined by the classroom teacher; ability to work with parents/guardians and staff members in a professional manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
Routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities. Performs special duties required for meeting the unique needs of students.
