Description
Substitute drivers will be assigned to transport students during the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (times are approximate); or as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
Qualifications
1. Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the school bus. passenger, and air
brake endorsements.
2. Must be able to operate both manual and/or automatic transmissions.
3. Must present a current DMV transcript of driver history (issued within the past 30 days).
4. Must possess a current School Bus Driver's Physician's Certificate.
5. Must consent to a background check; completed on site.
Reports to: Director of Operations

Responsibilities

Follows designated route schedule and stop at authorized stops only.

Notifies supervisor(s) of bus breakdown or deviations in schedule.

Ensures all pupils are accounted for and all runs are covered.

Reports all operating and equipment deficiencies.

Obeys all traffic laws and observes mandatory safety regulations for school bus operations.

Transports only authorized students.

Reports all accidents and completes required reports.

Ensures passenger safety; maintains discipline on bus.
